Some visitors express a desire for more vegetarian options, particularly in the hot meal selection. While The Edge offers an excellent variety of dishes, occasional diners look for more plant-based choices. Enhancing this aspect could appeal to a broader audience.
A few guest reviews mention peak times leading to longer wait times, particularly on weekends. Although the food quality justifies the wait, planning for early visits during busy hours can ensure a more leisurely dining experience. Regulars know to come early to beat the rush, which can serve as a helpful tip for newcomers.
Though the seating is wheelchair accessible, a few diners noted that space can feel snug during busy periods. Reservations might be wise for large gatherings, aiding smooth service and comfort.
I’m very satisfied with both the food and the service. Everything was delicious, well presented, and the staff were friendly and attentive.
Had afternoon tea here with friends today, what a treat - starting with a choice of 2 soups served in china cups; a selection of sandwiches, made fresh to order; a choice of cakes plus freshly baked scones filled with jam & cream, macarons and limitless tea & coffee - all for £15 per head, all served by lovely, friendly staff - we’ll definitely be returning as their menu is extensive 👌👌👌👌
Came for a baby shower and was amazed by the variety and quality of food! There was more than enough to eat and lots of leftovers which we were able to take home. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely return!
Lovely afternoon tea. Great value for money with plenty of choice. Wonderful service too!
The Edge is fabulous. Their food is wonderful and the staff are too! All of the cakes are homemade and delicious... it's a well run family business which is a lovely change from your chains that dominate much of the lunchtime trade these days. It is special for me as it is where my Dad and I go whenever I visit him, which is often... There is no discussion about going elsewhere, this is the only place we want to go. Xxx
Lovely little hideaway, great food and staff, my son is extremely fussy with food and ate everything including tasting the homemade soup I ordered for me (I have tried to get him to eat homemade soup for years and he’s always refused but he loved it) deffo be back soon, thanks again :-)
Wife and I tried The Edge for the first time during a visit to Ormskirk as we’d heard good things about it and it was great! Very good service and the food was excellent. We both had a steak baguette and mine was the best steak baguette I’ve had anywhere. Soft, warm baguette, tender steak, fried onions and mushrooms and topped with melted Stilton. It was simply divine and, accompanied by a BIG, strong pot of tea for two, was the perfect lunch! We are definitely going back the next time we are in Ormskirk.
